The football inky fraternity will pay their last respect to the distinguished sports and political leader who has been laid in state at the Banquet Hall of the State HouseMembers of the Council of patrons, the executive committee and the entire membership of the Sports Writers Association of Ghana (SWAG), will on Thursday, August 9, between 1:00pm and 2:00pm, file past the mortal remains of the late president John Evans Atta Mills at the State House, Accra.
This is to afford the association the opportunity to pay its last respect to the departed president of Ghana, who passed away on Tuesday, July 24 at the 37th Military Hospital, Accra.
A statement from the secretariat of the association called on all members to converge at the Accra Sports Stadium, on Thursday, August 9, by 12:30pm to enable “us move to the State House for the ceremony.”
The statement also extended invitation to other members of the sporting media who are not members of SWAG to join them for the solemn exercise.
SWAG it will be recalled officially signed the book of condolence at the Banquet Hall, State House, Accra, last Friday.
