The top scorer of the Caf Champions League is optimistic they will defeat the four-time Africa champions at their newly-constructed stadium in Lubumbashi
The prolific forward, who is the top scorer of the competition with nine goals including a hat-trick against Egyptian giants Zamalek, told Accra-based Joy FM they are heading to Lubumbashi with a winning spirit.
“The name of the team is TP Mazembe, but the players are not TP Mazembe. I know we are going to beat them looking at the quality of players we have,” the 24-year-old said.
The Black Stars player stressed their briefing ahead of the fixture is to return with at least a point.
“We are not thinking about losing or drawing, we are not coming back empty handed,” he added.
The Blues made a memorable debut in the group phase of the continental club flagship after beating the School of Art 3-2 at the Accra Sports Stadium. Clottey was the hero with his hat-trick record.
