Ghana Under-20 coach Orlando Wellington has quit his job following a series of poor performances ever since he took over from Sellas Tetteh
Wellington took over from Sellas Tetteh, who won Africa’s first ever U20 World Cup in 2009 in Egypt. He was then assistant coach of the team.
Wellington tendered in his resignation to the Ghana Football Association on Tuesday after getting hold of a hint that he was about to be axed following his recent 2-2 draw with Namibia in a three-nation tournament ongoing in Ghana.
The ex-Hearts of Lions coach is yet to record any feat with the team since he took over. He failed to qualify the team from the group stage of the 2011 African Youth Championship.
The Ghana FA is yet to make any official statement on his resignation.
