thumbnail Hello,

Rivals Asante Kotoko have expressed keen interest in the striker of the Phobians, but the Accra giants are yet to make up their minds

The management of Accra Hearts of Oak said they have not taken any position on the purported interest in their prolific striker, Mahatma Otoo, by rivals Kuamsi Asante Kotoko.

The club’s official mouthpiece, Hearts News reported on Friday that Otoo will only be sold to Kotoko if the Porcupine Warriors qualify for the Club World Cup in 2013.

Kotoko won the Ghana Premier League title in the just ended season and have thus qualified for the 2013 Caf Champions League. The only way they can play at the Club World Cup in December 2013 is to win next season’s continental club flagship.

On the basis of what the newspaper reported, it means the Phobians will only be ready for talks with Kotoko in November 2013.

But the general manager of the Accra giants, Ashford Tetteh Oku, in an interview with Ghana said, “the management has not taken any position on this.”

“Kotoko have written to us officially that they want Otoo and we are still waiting for the player to give us his response after he told us he needs time to think about it and do his consultations.”

Otoo has been one of the best players in the Ghanaian league in the last two years. He was part of the Under 23 team that won Gold at the All Africa Games in Maputo, Mozambique last year.
