The Nationalelf fell 1-0 behind shortly before the break when Mathieu Valbuena opened the scoring, but goals from Thomas Muller and Sami Khedira after the interval eventually saw them emerge victorious.
"We were very good going forward today, but we have got to be stronger in defence. In the end, we were a bit lucky that they did not make it 2-2 as we made some mistakes," Low said at a press conference.
Low then went on to voice his delight with the options he has at his disposal in attack.
"Mario Gomez does not have much match practice, which is why I thought I would take a look at something else. I wanted to variate a bit with Mesut Ozil and Toni Kroos and I think it worked well.
"Maybe I can play with two up front too, if they get on well. I can imagine Marco Reus and Mario Gotze up there, for example. We have got to have players who are unpredictable and want the ball played through to them."
Germany's next game is the World Cup qualifier against Kazakhstan on March 22.
