Abdou Sissoko's red card just 35 minutes into the action allowed the Parisians to eventually run away with all three points, courtesy of strikes from Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Kevin Gameiro, as well as a Bernard Mendy own goal in the dying embers of the game.
"This result gives me great satisfaction," the former AC Milan coach said after the match. "We have ended the year well.
"It was not an easy game, especially because of the pitch which was not in very good condition. In contrast, our performance was impressive.
"We played with confidence and the right attitude. The year ended well."
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Salvatore Sirigu was similarly encouraged by PSG's performance at Stade Frances-Le Ble and hopes the result acts as a reference point for the remainder of the season.
"We have played very well tonight, even if it has been facilitated by the dismissal of Sissoko [in the 34th minute]," the former Palermo shot-stopper commented.
"After the interval, we came back onto the pitch with the desire to make a difference. It was important to finish the year with enthusiasm. We must stay on this path."
And goalscorer Kevin Gameiro, who came off the bench to net his team's second of the night, added: "This is the perfect evening. We came [to Brest] to win, but we struggled in the first half. We were able to impose ourselves [in the second half].
"Personally, it's easy to be on the bench but I kept focused and I scored with my first touch."
