Gomis vows to stay at Lyon until end of the season
The striker has ruled out leaving the Ligue 1 leaders in the next transfer window, though he wants to try and prove himself in another country at some point in the future
Bafetimbi Gomis has revealed that he wants to remain with Lyon until the end of the season, though he was unwilling to comment on whether he would be leaving the club in the summer. The striker has scored 10 goals in Ligue 1 this term and has been linked with a move away from the French side, with Premier League teams Tottenham and Liverpool both linked with the 27-year-old.
The former Saint-Etienne forward has ruled out leaving the club in the January transfer window, but admitted he would like to try and prove himself in another country at some point.
"I want to finish the season here. You never know what can happen in football, we all realise that there are players who can be bought," he told RTL Radio.
"I am happy here and I want to finish the season here, but after that it is true that there are championships that I like, where I would like to evolve."
The France international also admitted that he tries not to have thoughts about leaving the club and wants to continue impressing for his current employers.
He added: "Today I do not think about it, I do not pollute the mind with the idea of moving."
