thumbnail Hello,

The club's supremo has spoken of his disgust at the timing of his side's matches in August, with L'OM playing two matches in the mid-day heat

Olympique de Marseille president Vincent Labrune has slammed the scheduling of the club's two Ligue 1 matches in August.

The 2010 champions will open their campaign against Reims on Sunday August 12 at 21:00CET, but will face Sochaux and holders Montpellier on the 19 and 26 at 14:00CET.

The club supremo has spoken of his discontent at the afternoon kick-off, with the south of France expected to be experiencing high temperatures.

"How can there be such a programme? There is no place in France where it will be warmer in 2012 than August 19, at 14:00 in Marseille ... apart from August 26 at 14:00 in Montpellier!" Labrune told La Provence.

"This double decision is contrary to common sense, and, in this case, takes no account of the physical integrity of the players.

"I understand the demands of broadcasters but usually we would really explain the reasons underlying these preposterous choices."

Marseille, meanwhile, are currently preparing for their Europa League third round qualifying clash against Turkish side Eskisehirspor on August 2.
