Adams went five games without picking a ball from the back of his net when the league was 12-week old and his reflexes are very sharp making him the ideal choice.
The central defence has Kumasi Asante Kotoko's centre-back Rashid Sumaila, whose outstanding defensive capabilities manifested at Dwarfs last season and now in Kumasi, where he is on loan and has gained a Black Stars call-up.
Medeama Sporting Club's guardsman Otuo Acheampong has been very impressive on the rear and has even popped up to net some goals including a header against Ashanti Gold in Obuasi.
Berekum Chelsea's Richard Kissi Boateng slightly got the nod over versatile Jeremiah Arkoful of Tema Youth for the left-back position. Boateng has been very consistent for the former league champions and possesses great attacking and defensive qualities.
Godfred Saka of Aduana Stars, who has been the best right-back in the local league since the 2010 season completes the list of defenders. Saka is well noted for his speed and ability to join the attack and also track back to defend.
The petit player is also a dead ball expert scoring some overly free-kicks which is a big plus for him.
In midfield, New Edubiase duo Basit Adams and Asiedu Attobrah make the team due to their controlling performances in the league so far this season. Edubiase have had a solid season with a lot of the team’s success attributable to the midfield pairing of Attobrah and Adams.
Joining them in the middle of the pitch is Amidaus’ Yahaya Mohammed whose performances this season have forced the whole country to sit up and take notice of his talent. Mohammed leads the goal king chart with 10 goals in 13 games so far four more than any other player has managed. His value to his club is evident in the fact that he has scored over 70% of the club’s goals this season single handedly lifting the debutants to the eight spot in Week-13.

Ashgold’s Yakubu Mohammed joins our attackers due to his great performances this year so far chipping in with six goals from a predominantly wide attacking position. His tireless running has contributed in a way to the Miners’ season so far.
Kennedy Ashia also made it in the team of the year. After Liberty Professionals sold playmaker Michael Helegbe to Asante Kotoko, there was a huge gap for the team to fill and since then 2012 has been a breakthrough season for Ashia. He has impressed in playing just behind strikers in the elite division which has considered him as a utility player, comfortable as a right-back, right-winger or defensive midfielder. His excellent passing, shooting and dribbling ability and exploits in the first half of the season has won him the praise from fans of the Dansoman-based club. Ashia has worked hard to improve his finishing making him score some wonderful goals this season and currently among the second highest goal scorers’ list in the Ghana Premier League with six goals.
Berekum Chelsea’s Latif Salifu managed to put horrible injury woes behind him and is making his presence felt in the league. The 21-year-old filled the void created by talisman Emmanuel Clottey. The former Ghana Under-20 star scored seven goals for his former club Liberty last season and with half way through this season’s league, he has scored six goals for the Blues. He may not be the hot cake yet but certainly looking poised to get a few more goals in 2013 before the season ends.
