Hacken 5-1 Syrianska
The 21-year-old has had a good run in the Swedish top flight. Over the weekend, he continued with his fine form after netting three goals for Hacken against Syrianska. That was his 22nd goal in the season in 25 matches. Apart from the hat-trick, Waris also provided an assist to ensure Hacken maintained their second position with two points behind Elfsborg.  His consistent performance at club level has led to his inclusion in the Ghana Black Stars team in the last three call-ups.

Congratulations to Waris, Goal.com's 6th Ghana Player of the Week winner!

Honourable Mention

Asamoah Gyan - Al Ain

Gyan recorded his first hat-track ever since he left the shores of Ghana as Al Ain beat Al Dhafra 7-0 in the UAE pro league. He scored two goals last week and his tally stands at seven in three matches.

Richmond Boakye Yiadom - Sassuolo

The on-loan Juventus striker has now got the season rolling after beginning to find his name on the score sheets. After getting his debut goal of the season last week, the 19-year-old maintained the momentum with a brace against Grosseto in the Italian Serie B to protect Sassuolo’s top spot.

Prince Boateng - King Faisal

Another good display from Prince Boateng as his last-minute goal gave King Faisal a 1-1 draw game at Liberty Professionals in Week One of the Glo Premier League. Boateng’s double against Sekondi Hasaacas in the promotional play-off gave Faisal the ticket back into the top flight and he was again available to establish his importance in the elite division.

Each week our team of writers will put forward a selected candidate, as chosen by Goal.com Ghana, who deserves recognition for achieving something special that matchday.

You can also help us choose a worthy recipient of the weekly accolade by leaving your nominations and comments. Your suggestions will be taken into consideration.

It won't necessarily be the best player in the country - at least not usually - but whoever we crown will have accomplished something amazing. It might be for a particularly awesome performance or for something praiseworthy off the pitch - either way, the person in question deserves special attention...
