Goal.com presents, the Word on the Tweet…
"Sorry to see Luka go. A great player and person! I wish him all the best at my old club #RealMadrid"
Rafael van der Vaart offers his best wishes to now former team-mate Luka Modric, who finally completed his move to the Dutchman's ex-club Real Madrid on Monday.
"I swear Luka Modric and David Guetta are long lost Twins!!"
Former Rangers man Alejandro Bedoya offers his own thoughts on one of the longest transfer sagas in Premier League history.
""@Born_a_gooner: @Frimpong26AFC Emma, how are you doing injury-wise? It would be nice to have you back soon..."--Thank You am Back in 3weeks"
Arsenal midfielder Emmanuel Frimpong has been out of action since suffering a knee injury back in February while on loan with Wolves last season. Initial reports suggested Arsene Wenger thought the Ghanian would be back in October but the player himself has the end of September in his sights.
"Another day of treatment and strength work, getting better and stronger. Looking good for weekend, taking no chances though#stayingpositive"
In a continued effort from Twitter to inform us of injury news, John Arne Riise, who missed Fulham's narrow 3-2 defeat against Manchester United on Saturday, is hoping to return next weekend when The Cottagers play West Ham.
"The Wizard of Oz on channel 5. An all time classic, #FollowTheYellowBrickRoad"
Last year's Premier League season battle of Manchester felt like a long, winding path, twisting in the favour of one side at times, then back in the other. Manchester City defender Joleon Lescott is following that road again this term.
"I don't PLAY Football, ain't done that since I was 12, we WIN Football matches...you wanna PLAY football have a kick around with your mates!"
Warning Reading players: Do not suggest a freidnly bit of 'jumpers for goalposts' when Jason Roberts is around.
"Think I scored the goal of my life today in training. Shame it counts for nothing. #dreamoverhead"
Nottingham Forest defender Greg Halford is dealt a bitter blow when he realises his Rooney-esque overhead kick is only against the tea lady in training.
"To whoever stuck the packet of McCoys on my car, I say 'They will never be the real deal'. #Walkerstilidie"
And finally, with the transfer window slamming shut in less than a week and speculation gathering weight, Gary Lineker has moved to firmly pledge his alliance to Walkers crisps, dismissing "made-up" rumours of a switch to McCoys.
