Paris Saint-Germain stars Blaise Matuidi and Maxwell have both signed fresh contracts with the Ligue 1 leaders, who have yet to officially announce the deals.
Prior to Tuesday’s 4-0 Champions League victory over Bayer Leverkusen, the duo penned fresh contracts while Thiago Motta has verbally agreed new terms with the Parc des Princes club and will shortly follow suit.
Although there has been much speculation over Matuidi’s future due to a contract that expired in the summer, the Parisian club were always confident of retaining the energetic midfielder ‘s services and have rewarded his excellent form with a pay rise.
Former Barcelona left-back Maxwell has also seen his wages improved, although his deal remains set to expire at the end of next season.
The future of Alex and Jeremy Menez may lie away from the French capital, however. Both have contracts that expire in June, with the centre-back’s non-EU status counting against him while former Roma attacker Menez has struggled to hold down a regular place in the team.
