Jose Maria Bakero believes that Pep Guardiola has made the right decision to resume his coaching career at Bayern Munich at the start of the 2013-14 campaign.
The Bundesliga giants announced on Wednesday that the former Barcelona coach will replace Jupp Heynckes at the end of this season, and his former team-mate feels Guardiola will thrive at Bayern.
"Bayern are a great destination for Pep. He can give this new batch of German players a bit of a Latin touch," Bakero told Goal.com.
"I am happy for him. Bayern Munich are a historic club. They have a great structure and will give Pep all the support he needs to make this project a success.
"Germany is a nice country and its football has developed significantly in recent years. It was characterised by power and strength, but is now based on technique."
Guardiola took a one-year sabbatical from football after leaving Barcelona in the summer of 2012, and will be looking to replicate his success with the Blaugrana at Bayern.
