Lichtsteiner: Napoli clash will not decide Scudetto race
The Switzerland international believes his side still have a long way to go, while Paul Pogba has set his sights on the full three points against the Partenopei
Juventus wing-back Stephan Lichtsteiner believes a win over Napoli on Friday would not guarantee the Bianconeri the Serie A title.Juve currently hold a seven-point lead over the Partenopei, who have a game in hand, and Lichtsteiner has insisted that the Scudetto race is by no means decided just yet.
"If we were to win against Napoli [on Friday], it would make it really tough for them, but it still wouldn’t be decisive in terms of the race for the Scudetto," Lichtsteiner was quoted as saying on the club's official website.
"There will still be 11 games left and with so many remaining, it will be far from over."
Young midfielder Paul Pogba, meanwhile, has stated that the Serie A leaders will be gunning for victory against Napoli.
"It’s a contest we have to go into looking to win. We need to play with ruthlessness and concentration, as we did against Siena."
Juve recorded a 2-0 home win over Napoli earlier this season.
