The veteran forward scored the only goal of the game to help his side to their first Serie A win of 2013, and their skipper was delighted with the performance they put in under the circumstances.
"It was normal that at the start we were timid as we are coming off a very difficult time and Juve are among the best teams in Europe," the 36-year-old told reporters.
"I hoped for this, as we don’t deserve our current position. The team always try to give their all for ourselves and the fans.
"Only with great character could we beat a team like Juventus."
Caretaker Aurelio Andreazzoli added that he was delighted to record a victory over a team with the stature and quality of the Bianconeri.
"Tonight we faced the team I admire the most, as I admire Antonio Conte and their style of football, so to have beaten Juventus is truly satisfying,” he noted.
"The credit always goes to the players. As a group and a club, we stayed close to the players and tried to reassure them in every way we could, telling them how important they can be in a game situation.
"I told the lads to go out there with their heads held high. This club is expanding to an extraordinary degree, and I can tell you the directors are amazing in their planning, initiative and organisation."
