New Milan signing Bartosz Salamon has said that he has often looked to Rossoneri great, Alessandro Nesta, for inspiration.
The highly-rated 21-year-old, who is currently injured, made the switch from Brescia on the final day of the winter transfer window and is hoping to be available for first-team selection soon.
The defender has said that Nesta has helped inspire him as a player, though, has pleaded not to be compared with the Italian legend.
“I’ve been inspired by Nesta, a player who I have always liked,” he was quoted by Tuttosport.
“However, don’t say that I’m similar to him. I was a midfielder at the start of my career, but in the last two years I have improved defensively and that’s why I have become a defender.
“I don’t really have an idol. I used to look closely at midfielders, but now I watch defenders.”
Salamon went on to express how moving to the Milanello is a dream come true.
"I'm at the club of my dreams and I do not want to miss this opportunity," he added.
"Three years ago I went to see Napoli-Milan and I immediately thought it would be great to play here. My dream is now present with this shirt.
"[Mino] Raiola, [my agent] told me that this is the chance of my life and I have to exploit it.
“On the evening of January 30, I thought I’d be staying at Brescia. The day after I got a call where I was told to head for Milan’s HQ to sign. It all happened very quickly. It was a beautiful day."
