The coach says he hopes Massimiliano Allegri will improve the AC Milan strike duo for the sake of the Italian national team and believes his young side will improve
The Italy coach admitted that Mario Balotelli's move to AC Milan could prove positive for his side, and said the young national team will improve after their 1-1 draw with Netherlands on Wednesday.
“I will be relying heavily on [Milan boss] Massimiliano Allegri as he works with Mario Balotelli and Stephan El Shaarawy," he told ANSA.
He continued: “The renewal of this team is slow but we will do great things.
“We must renew this squad and we are certainly on the right track. We have great potential, and that's exciting."
Italy needed a late goal from Marco Verratti to salvage a draw against Netherlands, and Prandelli believes that his team can benefit from guidance from their club coaches.
Prandelli picked out particular admiration for Paris Saint-Germain boss Carlo Ancelotti and his influence on Verratti, adding: “Verratti has the good fortune to work with Carlo Ancelotti who is one of the best coaches in the world.
“With him, Marco can become a great player.”
