Stramaccioni: Inter will not snub Coppa Italia
The Nerazzurri coach insists he will play his strongest possible side for Wednesday's game and revealed he is desperate to do all that he can to reach the final of the competition
Inter coach Andrea Stramaccioni says he will not "snub" the first leg of his side's Coppa Italia semi-final clash with Roma and revealed his desire to get his hands on the trophy.
The Nerazzurri face the Giallorossi in the cup just three days after a 1-1 draw between the two sides in the Serie A and the 37-year-old insists the competition ranks highly on his list of priorities.
“For us, every competition is important. We've said that right from the beginning of the season," he told the Inter Channel.
“We've got to the semi-finals of the Coppa and we have no intention of snubbing it. Tomorrow we will field a team that wants to win and will do everything to get to the final.”
Stramaccioni also believes Roma will field a similarly strong team but says his side are more than capable of winning the game following Sunday's encounter between the two sides.
“I think the Roma we will face will be the same one we faced in the league. We demonstrated on Sunday that we can do well against them," he added.
The winners of this semi-final will play either Lazio or Juventus in the final.
