The 23-year old, who sustained the knee injury in a clash with Borussia Dortmund's Mario Gotze at Munich's Allianz Arena, will have to endure a frustrating spell on the sidelines as his team-mates look to continue with their strong start to the season.
"If I were fit, my days wouldn't seem so long. In the first month, the aim is to get the grip back on the knee, we have achieved that now, and have to continue little by little," he told the club's official website.
The team has rallied around him following the injury, displaying a message of support before the Champions League game against BATE Borisov.
He added: "I am proud of how much the team is behind me, the team spirit is greater than previous years. The competition is great, everyone gives everything for success."
Bayern have not set a date for Badstuber's return yet, but the Germany international has made his personal aim clear; "I want to play again this season, that is my goal. Whining will not help, I have to look forward to achieve this goal."
Coach Jupp Heynckes echoed this feeling, adding: "I think by the last few games of the season he will be back. He knows well what he must do himself, he needs patience, and a lot of hard work."
