thumbnail Hello,

The former Chelsea official confirmed that the Russian club had made contact with him about the Peruvian forward, amidst rumours of interest from other top European clubs

A representative from Rubin Kazan travelled to Germany to meet with Hamburg's sporting director Frank Arnesen on July 5 about the possible transfer of Paolo Guerrero, however the club official has dismissed claims the striker is on his way out of the club.

"Yes, I have spoken with a representative of Kazan, but I will not confirm the interest of this club. There is still nothing concrete," he was quoted as saying by IMAGE.

It is expected that Guerrero will be on his way out of Hamburg in the next few weeks, with the club attempting to slash their wage bill. Guerrero is one of the top earners at the club, and is paid more than €4m in wages each year. Rubin, on the other hand, are in a financial position to pay such wages.

However, Arnesen admitted the club "need to sell in order to have financial flexibility".

It is not just Rubin Kazan that are interested in securing Guerrero's signature though, with reports circling elsewhere in Europe that Napoli and Valencia are both preparing bids for the forward this summer.
