Villas-Boas struggling to pick from Adebayor and Defoe
The Spurs boss revealed that he is still undecided on who to start against Manchester City on Sunday and is open to the idea of playing the pair alongside each other
Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas has admitted he is still unsure whether to play Emmanuel Adebayor or Jermain Defoe in their Premier League clash with holders Manchester City. The Portuguese boss has opted for a system that deploys a lone striker so far this season, but Adebayor’s return to fitness has provided Villas-Boas with a welcome selection headache.

“No, I haven’t made a decision,” Villas-Boas told reporters at a press conference on Friday.
"First I have to focus on the recovery of the players, and this short time of preparation, decide on the best XI."
Villas-Boas has not dismissed the notion that he could start both of the pair, even going as far as suggesting that Spurs have been playing with a two striker system so far this term.
He continued: "We’ve been playing with two strikers, two pure strikers with one off the other one, we still are a team that creates lots of opportunities with two up front, and it was good to see the link up of Ade and Defoe.
"But what we play on the weekend are the Champions of England and it’s a totally different proposition for this game, totally different approach.
"They are coming from a run of bad results so they will want to bounce back too, so it’s a completely different game."
