Poll: Has Terry made the correct decision after ending England career?
In the wake of his retirement from international football, on the eve of his hearing in front of an FA disciplinary panel, has the Chelsea man made the right choice?
POLLJohn Terry has announced his retirement from international football on the eve of an FA disciplinary hearing regarding allegations of racially abusing Anton Ferdinand.
Terry won 78 caps for England since making his debut in 2003, scoring six goals as he became a regular in the centre of the Three Lions’ defence.
He played in the 2004 and 2012 European Championships as well as the 2006 and 2010 World Cups, captaining the side on 34 occasions.

In July, he was cleared of similar charges at Westminster Magistrates’ Court, but was charged by the FA just a fortnight later for allegedly using "abusive and/or insulting words and/or behaviour."
Now, we are asking: has he made the right decision to retire from England duty?
Is he correct to state that his position has become “untenable” because of his impending appearance in front of the FA’s disciplinary panel? Having been found innocent in a court of law, is he right to feel the FA’s pursuance of charges against him undermine his position within the national side?
Or is he incorrect to end his career now, and to feel that he is being forced out of the side by the FA panel? Should he have tried to cope with the scandal, and remain available for selection by manager Roy Hodgson in the long-term?
So, has Terry made the right decision to retire now? Had his position in the England squad become untenable? Or has he made one of the biggest mistakes of his career?
