Mamelodi Sundowns' Xulu on trial at Russian club Rostov

The defender will be taking part in training with the Russian top flight side in an effort to impressive club authorities and earn a transfer from the Brazilians
Mamelodi Sundowns have confirmed that their defender Siyanda Xulu has left for Russia for a trial at FC Rostov.

Xulu, who previously had unsuccessful trials at Barcelona and Arsenal, was recalled from Sundowns' camp in Swaziland after Rostov were given permission to have a look at him.

The 20-year-old returned home from Swaziland over the weekend to prepare for his departure to Russia.

Xulu was also on Spanish club Atletico Madrid's radar last year but nothing materialised, and the KwaZulu-Natal-born defender will be hoping that this time he will finally make his move to Europe.
