Medeama leave for Congo to face AC Leopards in Caf Confederation Cup play-offs

The Tarkwa based side are off to Congo to face AC Leopards in the first leg of the final qualifying round of the CAF Confederation Cup

Medeama SC have left for Congo ahead of Sunday’s Caf Confederation Cup play-off tie with AC Leopards.

This weekend’s match is the first leg of the final qualifying round. The winner over the two legs will make it into the group stage.

Medeama, Ghana’s FA Cup holders have gone past Panthers FC, MAS and Zesco United in their last three matches in the preliminary round.

Leopards, the 2013 Congolese champions are part of the eight clubs that were dropped from the CAF Champions League after failing to progress into the money zone in the last qualifying stage.

Medeama are the only Ghanaian side left in the Africa inter-club competition after the early exits of Kotoko, Berekum Chelsea and Ebusua Dwarfs.

The return leg is scheduled for the Essipong Stadium in Sekondi the following weekend.
