The Lone Star of Liberia are hoping to register their first World Cup appearance and a win against the Cranes of Uganda will smoothen their path to Brazil 2014

Liberia have invited 12 foreign-based players for their away World Cup qualifying tie against Uganda in June.

Coach Frank Jericho Nagbe’s list includes two forwards from the Malaysian Super league - last season’s top scorer Francis Grandpa Doe of Selangor FA and striker Patrick Wleh of PK Negeri Selangor FC.

Zah Rahim Krangar of Persipura Jayapura FC and Sriwijaya FC’s Eddie Boakay Foday complete the Indonesian list.

Defender Omega Roberts from Serbian top flight club FK Smedervo that will be relegated at the end of the season and Denmark-based left-footer Ansu Toure are the two defenders from Europe.

Australia Melbourne Heart FC Liberian defender Patrick Gerhardt made the cut whiles Greece-based POAK Liberian attacker Sekou Jabateh will be in action as usual for the Lone Star.

Defensive midfielder Alseny Keita will continue his standard job from the midfield for Liberia as they endeavor to carry on with the country’s 2014 World Cup qualification hopes.

The Lone Star will be without its captain Anthony Laffor from Mamelodi Sundowns FC of the South African premiership and wing-back defender Solomon Grimes from the Cyprian Division 1 side Nea Salamina FC due to injuries.
