thumbnail Hello,

The former France coach describes the Cameroonian soccer star as a “monument” and a player he would love to coach someday on the pitch

Raymond Domenech, who coached France national team between 2004 and 2010, says Samuel Eto’o is one of the greatest players of all time and the one person he wants to work with in the future.

Domenech was one of the patrons at the launching of the European Football Poker Tour in Paris on Tuesday in Paris, France, alongside the Anzhi Makhachkala striker.

“Since the very day I watched Eto’o at Barcelona playing from the left back because Ronaldinho was not doing the defensive job and Eto’o had to go and do it, I doffed my hat for the Cameroonian, and that was when I called him a “monument” of our modern football for the first time. He is an exceptional player and one of the greatest of all time,” Domenech told Afrik Foot.

The 61-year-old former defender with Paris Saint Germain, Bordeaux and Lyon, said he would love to be Eto’o’s coach somewhere and someday because the four-time African Footballer of the Year has a leadership spirit.

“I would love to coach Samuel Eto’o. I don’t know how, where or when, but I would like to work with him because he is the kind of player that can transfer so many positive things to his mates and he is the kind of guy that motivates you to fight till the end,” he said.
