thumbnail Hello,

The 25-year-old striker says he has not contracted the disease and did not flee his club

Ivorian player Ahmed Toure of Egyptian side El Gouna, who was reported to have contracted HIV and subsequently absconded from the North African country with a fake passport, has refuted the news report, saying his recent blood test showed he had no HIV infection.

The former Asante Kotoko forward, who spent three seasons in Ghana Premier League, said he left Egypt with a genuine passport after reaching an agreement with Gouna to return next January.

Toure is currently residing in Abidjan, according to his media team, which sent three copies of the player’s recent medical reports dated August 9, 2012 to Goal.com.
