Recent rumours claimed the Catalans had agreed a deal to take the 20-year-old to Camp Nou and made an initial payment, but the Sao Paulo club have dismissed the rumblings
Reports had circulated that the Blaugrana had paid an initial €10 million for an unnamed player - whom fans believed to be the young South American - who would move to Camp Nou at the season's end.
However, the Sao Paulo giants have now ruled out a sale of the Brazil international before 2014, when his current deal at the club expires.
"Santos reject any possibility of selling Neymar to Barcelona or any other team," a statement on the club's official website read.
"There are no negotiations under way, and the club reiterate that the attacker has a contract until 2014, which he will see out until the end."
The 20-year-old has won 25 caps for his country, scoring 16 times in the process.
