January 13, 2013
• Stadio Ennio Tardini, Parma
Referee: A. De Marco
• Attendance: 14000
N. Sansone 78'
A. Pirlo 52'
And that's that. Parma extend their fabulous unbeaten home record, and the draw is probably a fair result.
90' + 3'
Yellow Card Afriyie Acquah
Acquah goes into the book for a strong, and dangerous, challenge on Vidal.
90' + 1'
Biabiany does well to find Acquah on the right, whose lovely cross flashes past Sansone at the back post. Parma were half a yard away from a winner there.
Pirlo sends in a corner and it appeared Pogba was nudged at the back post, though it would have been harsh to award a penalty for that.
Juve again work the ball well down the right, but once again Lichtsteiner's final ball was poor.
Juve break. Pirlo plays in Lichtsteiner, but his low cross was pulled back too far when Vucinic was waiting for a tap in. A real missed opportunity.
Giovinco again shrugged off the ball as this time it falls for Vucinic, who strikes low across goal from 20 yards but his shot is easily stopped.
Caceres desperate to get forward for the first time, which might not be a bad idea considering his defensive display this afternoon.
All of a sudden there's an urgency about Juventus now, with Pirlo no longer content to play square and slow things down.
Goal Nicola Sansone
GOAL! Parma equalise. Out of nothing. The substitute Sansone equalises with his first involvement. It was a lovely ball from Paletta but the Parma forward got inside Caceres way too easily before dispatching his low finish across a helpless Buffon.
Assist Gabriel Paletta
The game's getting a little scrappy now as Parma struggle to regain possession. The home side will have to find a way to get back on the ball if they want to get back into the game here. Juve dominating now.
Not quite sure how Marchionni has avoided a booking for that, but his foul from behind on Giovinco goes unpunished. Pirlo whips in the set piece from the left, but it's cleared out for a throw.
Mirko Vucinic will replace Quagliarella, and Conte will no doubt hope the Montenegrin will link better with the midfield.
Paolo De Ceglie
Paolo De Ceglie replaces Simone Padoin, who perhaps hasn't offered as much as Conte would like going forward.
Well that was ambitious. Quagliarella finds some space on the halfway line and attempts to lob Mirante, but it floats over the bar.
A good battle developing on Juve's left between Biabiany and Padoin, and Juve would do well to get the ball out to Pogba who is still finding space on that side of the midfield.
Better cross from Parolo this time, but it lacked height and Marchionni's shot is easily blocked by Caceres on the edge of the box.
Parma work some space, but Parolo's cross is poor and sails behind for a goal kick. That was better from the home side there, however. Valdes brings a calm to his side and needs to keep getting on the ball, slowing it down, and allowing those around him to regroup.
Valdes with a strong challenge on Vidal in the midfield - the Parma man was lucky to avoid a booking there.
Pirlo's strike was true, but looked to be heading wide before it struck Biabiany on the end of the wall and leave Mirante with no chance.
Goal Andrea Pirlo
Juve come forward again as Giovinco finds Padoin on the left, who turns and wins a free kick right on the edge of the box. Pirlo fancies this.
Juve have started well here. Parma have been unable to get out of their own half for the first three minutes.
And we're off. Again.
Stat attack: Three of Juve’s starting XI have more goals in their careers against Parma than anyone else: Lichtsteiner (2), Peluso (2) and Pirlo (7).
45' + 1'
And that's half time. It's been an entertaining end to the half here at the Tardini, but we go into the break goalless.
Yellow Card Gabriel Paletta
Paletta goes into the book for an agricultural late tackle on Giovinco just outside the box on the right. Pirlo tries to sneak a free kick inside the far post but it's deflected wide. And that should be it.
Another fine run from Belfodil, who once again beats Caceres, before his driven cross is deflected behind for a corner.
Really good end to the half following a fairly uneventful opening half hour. Quagliarella works some space on the edge of the box and forces another low stop out of Mirante. Juve look to have stepped it up here just as Parma were beginning to to dominate.
From the resulting free kick, Pirlo curls one from 25 yards that goes up and over the wall and forces a fine save out of Mirante.
Pogba awarded a free kick for a hight foot from Marchionni. The little Italian appeared to square up to the Juve man, who is twice his size, but Pogba throws a friendly arm around his shoulder and we all move on.
End-to-end stuff here as Quagliarella nips in but Mirante dives at his feet to block the Juve man.
At the other end, Giovinco's low cross finds Lichtsteiner but his effort is blocked too.
Again Parma go close and again it's Belfodil, this time his low shot is blocked when Buffon looked beaten. Amauri attempts an overhead kick as the rebound bounces up into the air, but it's over the bar.
Valdes starting to really get into the game now. Juve looking a little narrow and might have to start pressing before Parma start to dictate the play here.
Pogba again leads the Juve break, but Bonucci decides to try his luck from 35 yards and it comes to nothing.
Marchionni gives the ball away on the edge of his own area and Pogba finds space but sends his shot curling wide. The Frenchman has linked well on the left of the midfield three so far but should have done better there.
First real sustained spell of possession for Juventus, but Pirlo's attempted pass to Padoin was over hit and it went out for a throw. Seriously, Pirlo actually just played a bad pass.
Yellow Card Simone Padoin
Padoin goes into the book for a needless late tackle on Marchionni.
Giovinco stands up Biabiany on the left before winning a corner. Nothing doing, though. Valdes then dispossesses Pirlo before jumping in the air and lets out an almighty scream. Referee waves play on.
Belfodil goes close again. This time he ducks inside Caceres on the edge of the box before opening his body up and curling a shot just past Buffon's far post from 12 yards.
Belfodil comes in from the right and drops a couple of stepovers on Caceres before firing his low shot straight at Buffon. The young Algerian looks like he's in the mood again today.
Referee has a word with Donadoni, who's protesting a little too excitedly on the sideline. Oh, Donadoni is without a win in five encounters with Juventus.
Gobbi loses out to Pirlo and Quagliarella fires in the best effort of the game so far, but unfortunately his clean strike from 25 yards is straight at Mirante.
Gobbi plays a slick one-two with Amauri on the edge of the box before sending his shot just over Buffon's crossbar.
Lovely ball from Belfodil to find the onrushing Gobi breaking into the box, but he couldn't work enough space for a shot.
Santacroce crashes through the back of Giovinco, who is finding space between the lines but his touch has let him down in the opening stages.
Neat back heel from Pogba before Quagliarella shoots from range, but flies past Mirante's far post.
Jamie Valdes gets involved in the middle of the park, and wins a free kick from Vidal. Valdes' ability to get on the ball could be key this afternoon.
At the other end, little Giovinco sends his shot flashing wide from 20 yards.
Marchionni's whipped corner is punched clear by Buffon before Paletta smashes his volley over the bar. First half-chance of the game falls to the home side.
Lichtsteiner finds some space down the right, but Pirlo's scooped pass is a little too heavy and it runs out for a goal kick.
And we're off.
