The Porcupine Warriors finished the first round of the Ghana Premier League 2012-13 season at the third position after beating the Dansoman-based clubThe final fixture of the first round of the Ghana Premier League recorded three goals at the Accra Sports Stadium with Asante Kotoko winning 1-2 over Liberty Professionals.
The game started with both sides showing their determination to win. The Dansoman Boys wanted to repeat what they did to Berekum Chelsea, but were quickly stopped by Coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani’s strategy.
The Porcupine Warriors did not relax with Kofi Nti Boakye dominating the game on Sunday and was the first to register his name on the scoring sheet. The first half ended with the defending champions leading by a goal to nil.
The second half brought the game to its apex as the visitors scored the second goal with three minutes to end proceedings courtesy Kwabena Adusei.
A last gasp goal by Ebenezer Asifouh gave the hosts a consolation, but was not enough to prevent the Kumasi-based club from returning with the spoils.
Kotoko have now moved to the third position of the log with 26 points over Berekum Chelsea whiles Liberty end the first round with 19 points on the ninth spot.
