The Blues needed a win to move joint-top with Medeama, but could not go past the Kumasi-based club in their rescheduled game on Monday
The two teams had drawn 1-1 on Sunday, but the game was abandoned due to heavy rains that rendered the pitch soggy with 10 minutes into the start of the second half.
Unlike Sunday, the Kumasi-based team went to correct their mistakes and played a very beautiful game against the Blues, despite the low turnout in the stands.
But it was Chelsea’s fans who left the stadium quite disappointed because the Caf Champions League losing finalists failed to capitalise on today’s game to move joint-top with Medeama.
The Blues dominated the game, but their finishing was poor. With the results, Chelsea now maintain the fourth position on the log with two points adrift top holders Medeama whiles King Faisal are now in the relegation zone with only nine points.
Chelsea’s next game is against struggling side Real Tamale United whiles King Faisal take on another Berekum side, Arsenal on December 16.
