The Porcupine Warriors failed to earn the bragging rights of the Kumasi derby as city rivals King Faisal came from behind to share the spoils
The Ghana Premier League defending champions drew the first blood in the 39th minute courtesy striker Kofi Nti Boakye. He capitalised on a rebound to give the Porcupine Warriors something to smile about after team-mate Seidu Bansi had his penalty spilled by goalkeeper Ibrahim Iddrisu.
Going into the interval with a lead was something the Reds’ fans could cheer about, however, King Faisal managed to bring their supporters into the party with an equaliser from Prince Boateng.
Boateng’s strike was exactly what Faisal needed to round off the year as his overhead kick beat shot-stopper Soulama Abdoulaye to push them to the 11th spot on the standings with 17 points.
The Porcupine Warriors are fourth on the standings with 23 points - four points adrift the summit being ruled by Medeama, who toppled Aduana Stars.
