The Accra derby ended 2-0 in favour of the Rainbow Boys giving them their third win of the seasonAccra Hearts of Oak beat city rivals Liberty Professionals 2-0 at the Accra Sports Stadium on Sunday in the Ghana Premier League.
Robin Gnagne and Ashitey Ollenu were the heroes of the day as coach David Duncan entered his second day in office with a win to maintain a clean sheet since he took over.
Both goals came in the second half after the Dansoman-based club had managed to put the host in check, but the Ivorian-import broke the deadlock from the spot.
Liberty were doing all they could to at least depart with that one goal loss, but within four minutes after the opener Ollenu gelled well with captain Mahatma Otoo to aggravate the visitors’ woes.
Hearts now lie at the eighth spot on the standings and the win after the firing of coach CK Akunnor could boost their confidence level in the domestic top flight.
