Goals from Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu, Richmond Boakye-Yiadom and captain Asamoah Gyan in both halves of the warm up game ensured total victory for the four-time African champions.
The seven-time African champions failed to find their rhythm against a spirited Black Stars side who looked more determined throughout the game to avenge a 1-0 defeat in the hands of coach Bob Bradley’s side during the final of the 2010 Afcon in Angola.
Agyemang-Badu scored as early as the 17th minute to put the west Africans in the lead and that score line remained the same into the interval.
Right after the recess, substitute Boakye-Yiadom, who came on for Esperance striker Emmanuel Clottey doubled Ghana’s lead when he placed the ball past the Egyptian goalkeeper through a Kwadwo Asamoah assist.
Al Ain’s Gyan worsened the woes of the north Africans by making it three for Ghana, who have been paired in Group B with Mali, Niger and DR Congo at the 29th edition of the Nations Cup in South Africa.
Ghana will now face Tunisia on Sunday in their second and final warm up game before the continental football fiesta kicks off on January 19.
