Little he could do to prevent the equaliser and pulled off some decent stops throughout. A quiet game for the shot stopper with his side having a lot of the play.
Deputising for the injured Jagielka and looked assured throughout. Very tidy on the ball and partnered up well with Distin.
Gave away the foul for the free kick that saw Cardiff pull level and didn't get forward as much as he would have liked until he popped up when it mattered to win it for his side.
The ever dependable centre-half had a really solid game at the back and enjoyed the battle with Campbell. His pace defies his advancing years. A solid display.
Pushed forward as ever and involved in the goal after finding Osman free down the left. Rarely troubled defensively.
As ever, a willing runner and committed to the cause. Didn't pull out of a single challenge all game and provided the platform for the more creative players to kick on.
Looked tired when replaced late on and seemed to lose possession more often as the game wore on. Will need to produce more if he is to continue keeping Barkley out of the side.
Involved in all of Everton's positive play and saw a great deal of the ball. Set up several moves in advanced positions and just doesn't give the ball away.
Involved in everything that his side created in the first half and perhaps should have scored a couple for himself. Looked annoyed at being brought off when he was creating a lot of Everton's chances.
Despite a quiet performance, his positive run deserved the slice of luck that was needed for the opening goal. At times guilty of trying to do too much but produced when it mattered in the end.
Looked to have given Everton the lead only for Marshall to produce a sublime save to tip his first effort over the bar in the first half. Denied by the keeper brilliantly again in the second half.
Pulled off a number of stunning saves in the first half, one of which will go down as one of the saves of the season from Lukaku. Brilliant display of goalkeeping. Unlkucky to lose.
Sat in front of the defence to provide some much needed protection and played the role expertly. Intercepted several promising looking attacks and stifled Everton's attacking play on several occasions.
K. Théophile Catherine
Booked for a nasty challenge on Barry deep into the first half and can consider himself lucky only to see yellow. Other than that, performed well as his side soaked up a lot of pressure.
A quiet afternoon saw him chasing play for long periods. Never gave up however and will need to have the same attitude for the remainder of the season if his side are to stay up.
As solid as ever and dealt with the threat of Lukaku well. Has managed a few goals this season and came close in the first half with a volley from the edge of the area.
Delivered a number of quality crosses but the lack of numbers in the box at times must have frustrated. Stood up strong to the advancing runs of Baines down his flank.
In an otherwise quiet game, his brave block from Lukaku early in the second half prevented what looked a certain goal. That bravery was rewarded when he was found unmarked at the near post to pull his side level.
Didn't see a great deal of the ball with his side chasing the play for long periods. Replaced midway through the second half as his side looked to bring on some fresh legs.
Has proven himself to be an accomplished passer of the ball this season and delivered much of the same here. Always looks calm on the ball and did well to keep play ticking over for his side.
Replaced early on in the second half after a tireless display. Rarely wasted possession as his side played their part in an entertaining first half.
Gave Everton problems all game and unlucky to be on the losing side. Almost scored in the first half when he fired straight at Howard.
Provided the cross for the equaliser in an all round attacking display. A positive introduction.
Looked like he could have won it late on with a tricky run into the box but failed to pull the trigger when he perhaps should have done.
Ran his socks off once introduced but didn't provide the composure that his side would have been looking for.
