Shots on Target
So West Brom suffer a third straight defeat, then, and also their first away defeat to Cardiff since 1960. Their best chance to save the game fell to Long, but Marshall pulled off a world-class save to secure all three points for Cardiff. That concludes our coverage but do stick around the website for live commentary of Hull City v Stoke City in around 30 minutes' time. Cheerio.
90' + 5'
The Cardiff City Stadium erupts in joy as Howard Webb blows the final whistle. A huge win for Malky Mackay's side.
90' + 3'
Sessegnon thrashes an effort on goal but that is closer to the corner flag than the back of the net. Awful, awful attempt.
90' + 1'
Sinclair finds Sessegnon with a well-directed cross but the midfielder cannot keep his header down. Into four minutes of stoppage time now.
Final throw of the dice from the visitors as Matej Vydra comes on for Long. Cardiff make a change of their own with Bo-Kyung Kim on for Odemwingie.
Aron Einar Gunnarsson
Medel appears to have a knock and is replaced by Aron Gunnarsson. Brunt can finally take his corner but he fails to beat the first defender. The set-piece delivery has been terrible from both teams today.
West Brom are desperate to create an opening as we enter the last five mintutes. A sustained spell of pressure ends with Marshall making a superb save from Long's close-range header.
Noone and Theophile-Catherine are attracted to the same ball, resulting in a nasty-looking collision. Both are in need of a spot of treatment but they are fine to continue.
The set-piece is wasted as it goes straight into the grasp of Marshall. Cardiff bring on Nicky Maynard for Campbell.
This is more like it from the visitors. Mulumbu plays a cute reverse pass in to the path of Jones, whose cross is played safely behind for a corner by the Cardiff defence.
Campbell loses possession deep in the West Brom half and the visitors break. Sinclair feeds Berahino on the left but the England man's cross evades every one of his team-mates in the box.
Ooh, that was nearly the second goal there. Mutch does well to work some space for himself before firing just over Myhill's goal.
Amalfitano and Yacob are hooked by West Brom. Saido Berahino and Scott Sinclair are on in their place.
West Brom have a penalty appeal turned down this time as Long goes down in the box near Turner. That looked a mighty close call but Howard Webb remains unmoved.
Mulumbu has a go from distance as West Brom look to get back on level terms. The effort takes a giant deflection off Taylor and goes behind for a corner, but the visitors cannot make anything of the set piece.
Odemwingie goes down in the box under pressure from Jones. Cardiff players want a penalty for that but Howard Webb waves their appeals away.
Assist Craig Noone
Goal Peter Whittingham
Oh, hello. Cardiff take the lead through Whittingham after Noone plays the perfect cross into the box from the right. Sweet finish.
Yet another offside as Long strays too far ahead of the Cardiff backline. That was West Brom's eighth offside in the game.
Yellow Card Jordon Mutch
Amalfitano goes down under pressure from Mutch. The England midfielder is shown the yellow card for what is deemed as a dangerous tackle by referee Howard Webb.
Sessegnon has a go from distance but he drags his volley high and wide.
West Brom getting into the game a bit more now as a Chris Brunt free-kick takes a deflection off Amalfitano and runs behind for a Cardiff goal kick.
Amalfitano draws Taylor to concede a corner. The set piece nearly provides the opening goal as McAuley's effort from close range is blocked on the goal-line and Cardiff scramble clear.
The second half has picked up from where the first one left off. Taylor finds Odemwingie with a long ball but Yacob is on hand to win the ball back.
Jones goes in the book for a rash tackle on Medel. Rain absolutely hammering down in the Cardiff City Stadium now.
Yellow Card Billy Jones
Decent build-up play with Odemwingie, Noone and Medel all involved before Mutch overhits his cross behind goal. Poor from the England midfielder.
Campbell draws a foul from Claudio Yacob 35 yards from goal. Whittingham's subsequent free kick is on target but Myhill gets comfortably behind that one.
Away we go in the second half. No changes made by either side.
Well, that was a tense half of football devoid of much quality. Caulker had the best chance when he fired wide from a corner and Noone was lively in his first start of the season. West Brom huffed and puffed but went nowhere and manager Steve Clarke has his work cut out in the half-time break.
A scrappy first half comes to an end at the Welsh capital. Very little attacking ambition on show so far, with Cardiff enjoying more possession than the visitors.
Odemwingie produces a rare moment of quality with a peach of a cross to Campbell, which the England striker is but inches away from converting.
Cardiff have a chance to break through Campbell but Liam Ridgewell does well to track back and make the challenge. The Cardiff City Stadium is flatter than a pancake right now and I don't blame them.
McAuley concedes a needless corner on the back of a poor first touch but Cardiff cannot profit from that error. All dull and dreary so far, I'm afraid.
Medel is the first to go into the book for a cynical tackle on Morgan Amalfitano. The Frenchman's delivery into the box from the subsequent set-piece is headed away by Caulker.
Yellow Card Gary Medel
Mutch plays a clever disguised pass to Odemwingie but the striker had just strayed beyond the last West Brom defender and is flagged offside.
Cardiff have a free kick in a decent area after Gareth McAuley collides with Campbell. Whittingham's delivery is a poor one, however, as it goes straight out of touch.
West Brom cannot build any sort of attacking momentum at the moment with Sessegnon the latest to lose possession cheaply in the Cardiff half.
The set piece is headed on unwittingly by Jonas Olsson straight to Caulker, who slashes wide from a great position at the far post. Fantastic chance for the home side to take the lead.
Superb wing play by Noone again as he almost plays the perfect cross for Campbell but Jones is in the right place to head behind for a corner.
Gary Medel sprays a fine pass to Noone on the right. The winger, who is making his first start of the season for Cardiff, looks to get a shot away but the visitors have enough numbers at the back to get in the block.
Both teams are working exceptionally hard to close the other team down whenever they have the ball. Kevin Theophile-Catherine's cross from the right falls straight to Myhill.
Craig Noone cuts back on his left foot and plays a floating cross towards Campbell but it is a touch overhit and Myhill gathers.
Turner plays a poor backpass to Marshall with Sessegnon lurking. Marshall's hasty clearance falls to Long but the Ireland striker cannot get any power behind his shot.
Both sides being wasteful in possession as a succession of passes go astray. Shane Long has an ambitious pop at goal but his effort is blocked by Caulker.
Youssouf Mulumbu tries to inject some pace into the game as he drives forward but his pass to Stephane Sessegnon is intercepted by Steven Caulker. Fine defending by the ex-Tottenham man.
Jones seems to have a problem with his vision after clashing with Odemwingie. A bit of a break in play but he is fine to continue.
West Brom finally have a spell of possession and Billy Jones forces Ben Turner to concede a corner, which comes to nothing.
Andrew Taylor looks to slip in Odemwingie but the striker is adjudged to be in an offside position.
Cardiff goalkeeper David Marshall looks to pick out Fraizer Campbell but the ball runs out of play for a West Brom goal kick.
Bizarre routine on the set piece as both Whittingham and Mutch get a touch on the free kick. The shot is on target, though, with Boaz Myhill forced to claw the ball over the crossbar. Bright start by the hosts.
Cardiff win a corner almost immediately from kick off. Peter Whittingham's corner eventually falls to Jordon Mutch outside the area, but the midfielder is brought down by a West Brom defender before he can pull the trigger. Free kick in a dangerous area for the hosts.
Howard Webb is the referee for today and he gets us underway at the Cardiff City Stadium.

West Brom also find themselves embroiled in the relegation dogfight after picking up just two points in their last five matches, including defeats in their last three. The west Midlands outfit have won just one away game all season, although that win came at the expense of champions Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Bluebirds come into this fixture looking to overturn a poor run of form that has seen them fail to win their last five matches since beating Swansea City in the south Wales derby. Manager Malky Mackay will hope his side can string together a run of results at home and pull away from the relegation battle.
Afternoon all and welcome to live text coverage of the Premier League clash between Cardiff City and West Bromwich Albion from the Cardiff City Stadium in south Wales.
