The Phobians drop to the third spot of the league log whiles the Miners take over the second slot after a 1-0 win at their favourite Len Clay Stadium

Hearts of Oak are returning to Accra empty-handed after Ashantigold beat them 1-0 on Sunday at the Len Clay Stadium.

A win for the Phobians would have pushed them to the summit of the standings following Asante Kotoko’s fall at Kpando in a 2-0 defeat to Heart of Lions on Matchday-9.

Coach David Duncan has not been able to find an antidote to conquer the Miners – his former employers - since taking over affairs with the Phobians.

Shaffiu Mohammed broke the deadlock in the second half after both sides ended the first half barren.

It was a vital win for the Obuasi-based side to keep their unbeaten run in the 2013-14 season of the Ghana Premier League. Bashiru Hayford’s men remain the only side in the domestic top flight yet to taste defeat.

Hearts of Oak, who were occupying the second spot on the standings, have relinquished that position to the Miners and have now dropped to the third slot.

Kotoko are still on top of the log with a two-point lead over Ashantigold.
