Berekum Chelsea deepened the woes of Real Tamale United by beating them 2-3 on Saturday to move to the summit of the standings.

The game started with the Pride of the North dominating and the Blues were left chasing the ball. Kwamena Emmanuel drew first blood for RTU in the 12th minute.

Coach Yusif Abubakar realised he had to change his game plan. The plan really worked when the diminutive striker Latif Salifu equalised for the Blues in the 39th minute.

Jordan Opoku steered Chelsea into the lead 10 minutes after the break, but Abdul Aziz Yussif restored parity for the Northerners. Nigeria international Musa Mohammed finalised by a close range goal making it 2-3 in favour of the visitors.

Berekum Chelsea are now temporarily at the top of the log with 21 points. RTU still remain winless in the 2012-13 season.
