Kofi Nti Boakye’s goal on the stroke of halftime ended Medeama's five-game unbeaten run in the Ghana top flight.

The confidence level of the Asante Kotoko seem to be gaining grounds now after setting off in the six-week league with a major degree of uncertainty.

The Kumasi-based club have now moved to the fourth place on the log and the victory puts them at a pole position to send a strong signal to Hearts of Oak that their next league meeting with them will not be easy.

Boakye headed home from a Richard Mpong free kick in the 45th minute to ensure Ghana’s representatives in the next edition of the Caf Champions League gain their second win under coach Mas-Ud Dramani.

Kotoko’s next game is against rivals Hearts of Oak on November 18 in Kumasi.
