Although Barcelona dominated possession, Dani had a relatively quiet night between the posts for Valladolid. There was little he could do to keep out Xavi's strike but was not forced into a difficult save all evening.
Pulled across to cover his team-mates well and showed good strength. However, with Jordi Alba camped so far forward the right-back could not advance as much as he would have liked.
The centre-back struggled to deal with the free-flowing Barcelona attack and was left yards away from his marker most of the time. His tackling was poor and was lucky that the support he received in numbers kept things tight.
Never looked comfortable up against the league leaders as he made a number of clumsy challenges across the 90 minutes, conceding needless free kicks. His positioning was poor and he was frantic on the ball.
Attempted to push on as much as he could and it was his delivery that supplied Manucho with his only chance of the first half. His desire to get forward was not quite matched by many of his team-mates.
Was unable to inspire his side to a positive result like he has done so many times this season because Valladolid barely saw any of the ball. Without possession he could not threaten Barca and he had a very quiet game.
The wide man saw very little of the ball and was unable to exploit the space in behind the full-back. He did not track back to help the defence and was also unable to offer anything else going the other way.
Completely overrun, Sastre could not compete with the Barcelona midfield. He was forced to sit back and allow the visitors onto his team-mates as he was unable to move out and break apart the play himself.
Dropped in to add numbers to the defence, but his readiness to sit back enabled Barcelona to complete dominate most of the game. He offered very little resistance in midfield against the Catalan giants.
Did a bit of tracking back to help Balenziaga cope with Alves early on and did his best to support Manucho. But his side failed to ever look threatening and following a booking he was withdrawn in the second half.
Appeared to be ready to be a nuisance for another of La Liga's best defences early on but his knock down was blocked by Alba. It proved to be a very barren evening in terms of chances to shoot for the Angolan.
Came on for Sastre in the 82nd minute and did not influence the outcome.
Replaced Bueno in the 65th minute but could not make a lasting impact on proceedings.
Tried to inspire his side to a late fightback with an 89th-minute goal after his original header was saved; any hope was eradicated when Tello netted moments later though.
The keeper had next to nothing to do as Valladolid only got two attempts on target all night. The first came in the 89th minute which Valdes saved, but he could not stop Javi Guerra slotting home the rebound.
Looked to be getting back to his better days with a promising display of attacking football. His presence on the right enable Pedro to drift in field and run the channels. His decent delivery forged some of his side's best chances.
Pique will rarely have such an easy night. With Manucho receiving next to no service the centre-back had a simple game. He did not put a foot wrong and was extremely comfortable.
Spent most of the game sat in the Valladolid half offering his side width. He did defend well too, blocking a Manucho knock-down early on, but his biggest contribution was an excellent cross to set up Xavi's opener.
A typically classy performance from the central midfielder. He controlled the game from the centre of the park as Valladolid sat deep, and even managed to get forward and score his fourth league goal of the season.
Fitted into the side well as he remained assured and confident on the ball throughout the 90 minutes. He could have perhaps offered more of a link to the forwards and driven up the pitch.
Continually attempted to play searching diagonal balls out to Dani Alves but never managed to find his range. But defensively he could not put a foot wrong as he had very little to deal with.
Another competent display from the defensive midfielder. He sat back and helped keep things moving across the pitch with a number of easy passes. He did not have to break apart the play due his side's control of the ball.
Played with plenty of freedom with another top-drawer display. He dropped deep to pick up the ball and his input was key to the opening goal. He had already struck the post from a free kick himself but missed out on his 91st goal of the year.
Drifted inside to the channel as Alves moved forward at will. He did not get many chances to run at the defence though due to the sheer number of bodies back for Valladolid. He came close to finding the net, shading the post after a great move with Alves.
Another disappointing night for the Chilean who missed an absolute sitter in the sixth minute. He never really offered anything more clinical than that in the final third and struggled to get involved in the attack.
Came on for Thiago with six minutes of normal time remaining.
Replaced Sanchez with 13 minutes left and had little time to make a huge impact on the game.
Was only brought on for Pedro in the 93rd minute but managed to get on the scoresheet seconds later with a brilliant run and cool finish.
