Well, that's all from St Mary's this afternoon and it's another good result for Southampton. Thanks for joining us this afternoon, and be sure to enjoy the rest of the day's football action!

Southampton are up to fourth in the Premier League with 14 points from seven games; a superb return for Pochettino's men. Swansea, meanwhile, follow defeat at Arsenal with another loss today and at down in 14th place.

FULL TIME at St Mary's and Southampton take all the points with a hard-fought 2-0 victory over Swansea. Michael Laudrup's men had plenty of chances but were undone by good goalkeeping from Boruc, and Southampton have their fifth clean sheet of the season already.

90′ +4
Dyer attempts to carry the ball down the right flank but ends up running straight out of play as he is swarmed upon by red shirts.

90′ +2
Clyne wins a corner for Southampton and Lallana takes it short before it's worked back to Fonte and then on to Boruc. The goalkeeper - who has saved well today - launches a dodgy kick forward, though, and it goes straight out for a throw.

90′ +1
Guly has gone 39 appearances without a goal for Southampton. He hasn't got long to rectify that today...

90′
Southampton win a free kick and launch it forward. Davies has to put the ball out for a throw as we enter four minutes of added time.

89′
Guly do Prado gets a run out and is almost in on goal straight away as the ball is headed over the defence, but the substitute is penalised for a foul on Chico.

88′
Substitution Steven Davis Guilherme Do Prado

88′
Canas plays the ball out wide left and Bony does well to chase it down and keep it in play. The ball eventually gets worked back to Canas in the middle, but he wastes possession with a poor effort from range which flies way off target.

87′
Swansea have possession and are still moving it around well. Southampton are sitting back now, though, and the visitors are finding it hard to break through.

85′
That's a real blow to the visitors, who have played very well, particularly in this second half. But it looks like they'll be going home empty-handed.

83′
Goal Jay Rodriguez
RODRIGUEZ SCORES!! SOUTHAMPTON DOUBLE THEIR LEAD!! That could well be that for the hosts as Boruc launches it high up the pitch and Flores can't deal with it. The defender gets into a real mess as Rodriguez darts in to snap a shot from the edge of the box, which rolls right into the corner.

82′
Michu heads over from 12 yards after a good ball in from the right. The striker is donning a rugby-style scrum cap after his head injury; perhaps that didn't help...

81′
Yellow Card Victor Wanyama

81′
Dyer causes more trouble in the Southampton half, this time winning a foul off Wanyama, who goes into the box. Shelvey's ball in is punched away by Boruc before Chico tries an audacious bicycle kick, which doesn't trouble the goal.

79′
Davies swings the ball in with his left foot but Southampton head away. Swansea keep the ball, though, and it's lifted over for Chico at the far side of the box, but Clyne does well to muscle the Swansea man off the ball and guide it behind for a goal kick.

78′
Dyer - who has looked a constant threat today - draws a foul from Schneiderlin and Swansea can fire it into the box...

77′
The replays don't show much wrong, but Ward-Prowse originally put it behind so it shouldn't have been a corner in the first place. Possibly some sense of justice for Swansea, there.

76′
GOAL DISALLOWED!! Wanyama thinks he's doubled the lead as Southampton win a lucky corner, and the midfielder bundles it in from close range but the referee blows for a tug by a red shirt.

75′
It's Southampton who are keeping the ball now. Are Swansea just starting to run out of ideas?

73′
Excellent skill from Pozuelo, who skips past three challenges before playing it into the path of Michu. The striker tries to cross for Bony in the middle but it's cleared out for a throw.

72′
Southampton are getting back into this now, with under 20 minutes left, but Rodriguez is caught offside as he tries to latch on to a long ball.

71′
Southampton get a second corner straight away. Wanyama reaches it at the far end of the box to nod back for Schneiderlin, but the midfielder launches the ball high into the stands. Not a great effort, that.

70′
Wanyama has the ball in midfield and drives forward before looking for Rodriguez, but Canas is there to challange and put it out of play. The midfielder is called upon again as Clyne gets to the by-line but Canas diverts his cross behind for a corner.

68′
Substitution Rickie Lambert Jay Rodriguez

68′
Swansea have a chance as Shelvey picks the ball up in space, but his attempted curled effort is fairly tame and Boruc gathers comfortably.

67′
We're entering the final quarter of the match and we're seeing plenty of changes as Alex Pozuelo replaces Routledge for the visitors, while it looks like Jay Rodriguez is set to come on for Lambert.

66′
Lallana lifts the ball over the defence for Lambert, who peels off to the right before giving it back to his captain. Lallana floats a dangerous cross into the six-yard box and Ward-Prowse is coming in at the far post, but Rangel does well to play it behind.

64′
Fox does well to stop Dyer in his tracks and then play it to Ward-Prowse, but the Swansea winger recovers well to press hard and force a mistake from the substitute, giving the visitors a throw.

63′
Boruc plays a high ball forward and Lallana heads it on for Lambert to chase, but Amat does well to see that the ball goes through to his goalkeeper.

61′
Substitution Wayne Routledge Pozuelo

61′
Fox gives it straight to a white shirt in midfield and Swansea have the ball again. Rangel looks for Routledge with a dangerous ball but it's just too far in front of him and Southampton get possession.

60′
Canas does well to dispossess Ward-Prowse in midfield. The hosts are struggling to get out of their half, but Chico helps them out by fouling Davis on the halfway line.

59′
Swansea have had two-thirds of the possession in the second half. It's quite the opposite to the early stages of the first period.

58′
Substitution Pablo Daniel Osvaldo James Ward-Prowse

58′
James Ward-Prowse enters the fray for Southampton, replacing Osvaldo who may still be suffering from that Canas challenge. The substitute immediately gets involved, hammering a clearance away from a Swansea throw.

57′
The game is almost exclusively being played in the Southampton half at the moment. Dyer plays a superb one-two with Rangel before firing in a low cross, but it's blocked comfortably and goes out of play.

55′
Yellow Card Jose Rocha Fonte

55′
Shelvey lines up the set piece and gets it over the wall, but also over the bar. A roar goes up from the home fans as they realise their side is feeling the pressure.

54′
Yellow Card Dejan Lovren

54′
Real danger for Southampton now. Bony breaks forward and is brought down by Lovren right on the edge of the box. Swansea want a penalty but it looks like it was just outside.

53′
Swansea have another chance straight away as Bony is picked out in the area by Rangel. The striker gets up high to meet the ball but his header floats over the bar.

52′
Chance for Swansea! Routledge is picked out in the middle and he plays a lovely first-time ball through for Dyer, but he fluffs his shot and the ball rolls tamely wide.

51′
Osvaldo seems to have run off the injury, but Chico manages to steal the ball off the striker and Swansea have possession. The visitors have started the half strongly.

50′
Shelvey finds Routledge on the left with an excellent pass, and the winger lays it back to Davies. The full-back tries to find Bony in the middle but it's cut out and Southampton clear.

49′
Osvaldo is back on his feet and hobbles gingerly off the pitch, but it looks like he might be happy to continue.

48′
Yellow Card José Cañas

48′
Osvaldo goes down in pain after a reckless challenge by Canas. From some angles it looks two-footed, so he might be lucky to escape with a booking. Meanwhile, the Saints striker is still down and looks in trouble.

47′
Southampton get a free kick and Lallana plays it to Lambert, but the striker miscontrols and it goes out for a throw. Saints press well, though, and win it back before Davis looks for Osvaldo, but the striker is caught offside.

46′
And play resumes as Swansea get the ball rolling for the second half.

We're almost ready for the restart at St Mary's. It's been a very even contest, so can Swansea get something from the game?

Elsewhere in the Premier League, Chelsea are 1-0 up at Norwich thanks to a goal from Oscar. As it stands, Southampton will go up to fourth in the table after the whistle, although Tottenham could go ahead of them with a win over West Ham later.

That's HALF TIME at St Mary's and  the hosts take a 1-0 lead into the dressing room after a fine goal from Lallana. Swansea had plenty of chances towards the end of the half but Boruc has been in inspired form so far, producing several stunning stops.

45′
Bony puts Lovren under pressure on the edge of the box and Swansea win the ball. It's played wide for Rangel but Davis comes across well to slide in and put it out of play.

44′
Chico has it in midfield and looks for Routledge on the touchline with a floated ball, but it goes out of play for a throw to the hosts.

43′
Swansea have another great chance as Rangel sets Dyer away with a fantastic cross, and the winger plays it low across goal looking for Routledge, but Fonte manages to scramble it behind for a corner.

42′
FANTASTIC SAVE FROM BORUC!! Michu starts a move on the left and the Swans work it wide to Dyer, who picks out Bony in the area with a fine cross. The striker heads towards goal but Boruc is there to divert it behind with a superb stop.

40′
CLOSE!! Osvaldo wins a free kick on the right and Lallana whips a dangerous ball in. Lambert gets in front of his man and flashes a powerful header just off target.

38′
Boruc launches a ball forward straight through the middle and Osvaldo lays it off for Lambert, whose powerful effort hits a defender but the hosts keep the ball.

36′
SO, SO CLOSE FROM DYER!! Bony sets a move going with an absolutely delightful backheel and Dyer breaks forward, cuts on to his left and hammers a shot from just inside the box, which clatters the post and rolls agonisingly along the line. Incredible!

35′
Clyne absolutely clatters into Davies after his first touch lets him down following Lallana's pass out wide. He went in with both feet and got nowhere near the ball, so the referee correctly awards a free kick.

33′
Shelvey fires in a cross from the set piece and Chico flicks it on but the ball goes out for a goal kick, which Boruc completely fluffs, but Southampton retain possession before Osvaldo is given offside.

32′
Bony chases the ball down the right and Lovren comes across to challenge, but gives away a soft-looking free kick.

31′
This game has been really entertaining in this half, and Bony is the latest to have an effort, trying a shot from 20 yards which Boruc saves comfortably.

29′
GREAT SAVE!! Lambert lashes a brilliant effort to the keeper's left and it looks to be heading for the corner, but Vorm gets down to parry the ball aside. That was hammered in from over 30 yards!

28′
Canas gives away a free kick in a dangerous area as he cleans out Lallana during his attempt to win the ball. Lambert clearly likes the look of this one...

27′
ANOTHER SAVE!! This time it's Shelvey who tests Boruc with a long-range effort and the shot-stopper gets down low. At the other end Osvaldo comes wide to pick up the ball and run at Davies but the defender steals the ball well.

25′
GREAT SAVE FROM BORUC! A cross to the back post is met by Michu but the Poland international sticks close to the frame of his goal and diverts it behind.

23′
Lovren lifts a diagonal ball forward for Osvaldo, who wins the first header but Dyer manages to show some good strength to win the ball back, before he gives it away and Southampton have possession once more.

21′
Swansea have a free kick and Shelvey tries to bend in a dangerous ball but it comes straight back out to him. It eventually comes out to Routledge who takes on Clyne before his cross is turned behind for a corner.

19′
Assist Steven Davis

19′
Goal Adam Lallana
LALLANA SCORES!! SAINTS LEAD!! The Saints captain has the ball out on the right and tries to find a man in the box but it comes back to him through Davis, and he manages to get beyond two defenders before finishing emphatically from the right-hand corner of the six-yard box.

18′
Southampton have had around 57 per cent of the possession so far. They're certainly on top at the moment.

17′
Shelvey shows the good and the bad in quick succession as he does well to win the ball off Lallana in midfield, before firing a wayward pass straight out for a throw when looking for Dyer.

16′
Saints nearly get in behind the visitors as Lambert picks it up outside the box before sliding an excellent reverse pass through the middle for Lallana, but it's just out of his stride and Swansea clear.

15′
Schneiderlin and Lallana exchange passes out on the flank but the Saints captain loses concentration for a moment, just straying offside, and Swansea have a free kick.

14′
Shelvey swings an excellent ball out for Davies on the left and the full-back pushes inside. He looks for Bony but the striker is surrounded by red shirts and Southampton break forward through Clyne, but Amat does well to come across and put it out for a throw.

12′
Fonte plays the ball forward and Osvaldo produces a lovely first-time flick for Lallana down the right, but the ball is forced out for a corner.

11′
Lambert is penalised for a foul on the left-hand corner of the box and Swansea have a chance to calm things down slightly.

10′
It's been a good opening ten minutes, and Southampton move it around well in front of the visitors before it's sneaked through for Schneiderlin. He gets a shot away but it's blocked and goes behind for a corner, which Swansea clear.

8′
Fonte looks for Schneiderlin with a well-placed ball down the right, but Davies is alert and gets ahead of the midfielder to clear out for a throw.

7′
Chance! Lambert flicks an excellent ball through for Osvaldo, who runs off the shoulder of Amat but is forced wide. He does well to keep the ball but fires an effort from a very tight angle and it goes way over.

6′
The hosts immediately move up the other end and Lallana's ball misses Osvaldo but Vorm chases it to the right-hand edge of his box and, under pressure from the striker, almost handles it outside the box!

5′
We have the first shot of the match and it goes to Swansea after Rangel gets to the ball first and it's worked to Shelvey, who has space to try an effort from 25 yards which rolls straight through to Boruc.

4′
The Swans are now enjoying a passing spell. Both sides like to play it along the ground so we should see plenty of this today. Davies gets down the flank but overhits his cross looking for Bony in the middle.

3′
Dyer nips in ahead of Fox to steal a long ball forward and looks for Michu but Wanyama does well to cover back and slide in to win the ball.

2′
Southampton have settled into possession early, but Wanyama gives it straight to Bony in midfield. The striker sets Dyer away on the right but Dejan Lovren holds firm to clear the ball away.

1′
We're underway, and the hosts get the game started under the south coast sun.

Not long until kick-off at St Mary's. Will we see some goals today?

Interesting stat from Eurosport: Swansea start with five Spanish players for the fourth time this year, equalling the record set by Liverpool in 2009 for most Premier League matches started with five Spanish players in a calendar year.

Also, there have been only seven goals scored in games involving Southampton this season; a Premier League low. Let's hope the game doesn't live up to its billing of "0-0 written all over it"...

These two drew both league meetings last season, and it looks tight again today. The Swans have only conceded one goal in their three away Premier League games this season, while Saints boast the joint-best defence in the league, alongside Tottenham, having only let in two so far this term.

Meanwhile, Michu starts for the Swans despite picking up a nasty head injury against St Gallen on Thursday, while Laudrup makes five changes from that 1-0 win, bringing back Michel Vorm, Angel Rangel, Nathan Dyer, Jose Canas and Jonjo Shelvey. Ashley Williams also returns to the bench after missing three games with an ankle problem.

So, Saints bring Danny Fox into defence with Luke Shaw out through illness, but apart from that it's the same side that beat Crystal Palace 2-0 last weekend. Dani Osvaldo opened his account with a goal that day, so he'll be relishing the chance to add to his tally this afternoon.

SWANSEA: Vorm; Rangel, Amat, Flores, Davies; Canas, Shelvey; Michu, Dyer, Routledge; Bony. // Subs: Tremmel, Taylor, Williams, Pozuelo, Britton, Tiendalli, Vazquez.

SOUTHAMPTON: Boruc; Clyne, Fonte, Lovren, Fox; Wanyama, Schneiderlin, S. Davis, Lallana; Lambert, Osvaldo. Subs: K. Davis, Rodriguez, Ward-Prowse, Cork, Guly, Chambers, Hooiveld.

The team news is in so let's look at today's line-ups, starting with Mauricio Pochettino's men...

Good afternoon and welcome to LIVE play-by-play coverage of the Premier League clash between Southampton and Swansea. Saints will be the fresher of the two after the visitors' Europa League exploits on Thursday, but can Michael Laudrup's men grab a win at a side that hasn't lost at St Mary's since April?
