In the same fixture a month ago, the Porcupine Warriors went to the capital to pick all the maximum points at stake courtesy strikes from mercurial forward Kofi Nti Boakye and Kwabena Edusie aka Azzaro from the spot whilst Liberty got a consolation goal in the nick of time from Ebenezer Assifouh. The match ended 2-1 in favour of the Fabulous club.
Kotoko come into this fixture with just one loss and are cuddled comfortably in third position on the league log with 26 points, whilst Liberty sit pretty in eighth place with 22 points.
Kotoko coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani said ahead of the game: “Liberty is a good side and so playing them
requires a lot of good planning. They are going to offer us a good opposition so we will also come up with our best performance. I know after walloping Sony Nguema our fans will be looking for a repeat dose.” Kotoko, fresh from their recent scalp of Nguema, will want to assure its following that the 7-0 win was no fluke but a true reflection of their current form whilst the Dansoman-based side will be seeking to avenge their 2-1 defeat at home to the Porcupine Warriors.
Games between both clubs always live up to expectation as goals are recorded aplenty.
Team News: New recruits Bobie Ansah, Aziz Yusif, and Kofi Agyare could make their debut league appearances for Kotoko whiles Nti and Isaah Yakubu will not feature due to various degrees of injuries suffered in their continental campaign. Kennedy Ashia returns to the fold of Liberty.
