Top five Chelsea-Manchester United controversies

Never one to mince his words, Sir Alex Ferguson was handed a five-match ban after being charged with improper conduct by the Football Association following his criticism of referee Martin Akinson during Manchester United's 2-1 defeat to Chelsea in March 2011.
Sir Alex said, in an interview with MUTV, "in matches like this you want a fair referee" and that he "feared the worst" when he found out Atkinson was the scheduled official after Chelsea won a corresponding fixture through a controversial John Terry header the previous season.
