The Gunners had six different scorers in Jakarta as Theo Walcott, Chuba Akpom, Olivier Giroud (2), Lukas Podolski, Kristoffer Olsson and Thomas Eisfeld all joined in on the goal scoring fun.
There was a shock for Manchester City, however, as were beaten 2-0 by SuperSport United. Goals from Mame Niang and Kermit Erasmus - who scored late on - condemned Manuel Pellegrini's side to defeat in the opening game of the Nelson Mandela Football Invitational.
Aston Villa, meanwhile, were held to a 1-1 draw in Germany against VfL Bochum. Nicklas Helenius headed the Midlands side in front inside two minutes with his second goal so far this pre-season, but Yusuke Tasaka netted a late screamer to level the contest.
Elsewhere, Fulham cruised to a 3-0 win against CS Cartagines in Costa Rica. Dimitar Berbatov scored twice as Martin Jol handed debuts to several new signings, while Bryan Ruiz capped the victory after being played in by Hugo Rodallega. Costa Rican Ruiz received a warm reception for his efforts from the home fans.
And Everton were losers in their friendly against Austria Vienna, as two goals by Marko Stankovic sent Roberto Martinez’s side to defeat. Apostollos Vellios pulled one back for the visitors before half-time, but the Toffees could not find an equaliser.
