Bayern Munich
A transfer of Wayne Rooney from Manchester United to Bayern Munich is not likely to happen. Although Rooney is a player who has proven his worth at international level, there are several factors that would prohibit a transfer.
Rooney would compete with Mario Mandzukic and Mario Gomez for the lone spot in Bayern's attack, without considering other potential summer arrivals.
Die Roten, in fact, are interested in recruiting Robert Lewandowski, three years younger than Rooney, from Borussia Dortmund either this summer or next year on a free.
And while Bayern have the financial muscle to fund a move for the Englishman, they have publicly stated that they will not spend more than the €40 million (£34.6m) they paid for Javi Martinez again any time soon.
