Look away Celtic fans: The heaviest Champions League defeats

Next 2. FC Skonto 0-9 Spartak Moscow (1993-94)

1. Glentoran 0-8 Marseille (1992-93)

On their way to securing the first Champions League title, Marseille took on Northern Irish side Glentoran, who were out to shock Didier Deschamps, Abedi Pele & Co.

Les Phoceens took a commanding first-leg lead as Rudi Voller struck in the third minute, before Victor Vasquez's double and further goals from Franck Sauzee and Jean-Mard Ferreri gave them a five-goal cushion.

The Glens were also easily dispatched 3-0 at the Stade Velodrome thanks to goals from Francois Omam-Biyik, Pele and Basile Boli.

Already lumbered with a three-goal deficit, Lennon will know the aggregate scoreline has the potential to get embarrassing if the Old Lady once again turn on the style and show no mercy.

With that in mind, Goal.com takes a look back at some of the biggest beatings ever dished out in the competition's latter rounds.
