Galliani seemed to think he was putting Milan fans' minds at ease by stating that Kaka would stay at the club in the summer of 2008, but his use of Andriy Shevchenko as an example of somebody in the same situation to the Brazilian came across as a tad misguided when the Ukrainian arrived back at San Siro just a couple of weeks later on a season-long loan deal.
The former striking legend's return didn't exactly go to plan, as he failed to score a league goal in his second spell with the club. Maybe Galliani should have followed his own guidance and left Sheva at Chelsea. What's more, he would also find that his talk of Kaka was to come back to bite him ...
