7. Pressure builds on Benitez and Wenger
Chelsea continued their stuttering start to life under Rafa Benitez. After being held at home by Fulham, the Blues were beaten 3-1 away to West Ham, despite being given an early lead by Juan Mata.
Sam Allardyce's half-time changes turned the tide for the Hammers, with Mohamed Diame's presence, and 86th-minute goal, proving vital for the Upton Park club's comeback.
Despite assisting Mata's goal, Fernando Torres was again poor for the Blues, although he was backed by Benitez after the game, while the manager was again booed by Chelsea's fans.
The continued protests against Benitez's management and support of former boss Roberto Di Matteo were blasted by former Chelsea midfielder Craig Burley, who labelled the actions as "sycophantic" in an exclusive interview with Goal.com, although the former Liverpool manager admitted that he was unsure of his future after defeat to the Hammers.
The Blues slipped to 10 points adrift of Manchester United at the top of the league but Arsenal are now 15 points behind the Red Devils after being beaten 2-0 by Swansea City at the Emirates Stadium.
Michu scored twice late in the game to secure the points for his side, while he also moved joint-top of the Premier League scoring charts, alongside Luis Suarez.
Arsene Wenger admitted after the game that his side were not good enough but remained insistent that the Gunners can have a successful season.
Spanish star Santi Cazorla called for the Gunners to add consistency to their game, as dissenting voices at the Emirates Stadium continue to grow.
