Samir Handanovic - Udinese - Serie A (Grazia Neri)
Samir Handanovic's playing career took off at Domzale. His performances attracted the interest of Serie A team Udinese. However, he was unable to cement his place in the starting line-up and was sent out on loan to Treviso in the summer of 2005. In January 2006, Handanovic was swapped for Matteo Sereni.

His fortunes did not change and he was loaned yet again, this time to Rimini in the summer of 2006. He put in some good performances, as Rimini finished fifth in Serie B with only three other teams conceding lesser goals than them.

This prompted Udinese to bring him back in 2007 and he displaced Morgan De Sanctis to make the number one spot his own. He was offered a new contract than runs till 2012.
