Before moving to Red Star Belgrade, Nenad Milijas really made his name at his first club FK Zemun. At Red Star however, he would go on to win league and cup honours. He was picked by the Serbian national squad in 2008 based on his sheer class and host of individual awards for his performances at Red Star. He made his debut for the national side against the Faroe Islands in September 2008 which Serbia comfortably won 2-0.

Milijas now plies his club trade for the English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers, for whom he signed a four-year deal in the summer of 2009. His first goal for the club was a memorable winner against Bolton Wanderers in a 2-1 league victory. Nenad is a regular starter in the Serbian line-up and is usually paired alongside Serbia captain and Inter ace Dejan Stankovic.
